Why are we so afraid of aging?
Throughout the years I’ve heard my mom say, "ugh" I'm getting old, I'm getting wrinkles. And that was always the mind set I went by. But in recent years I have discovered that aging is living. And living is aging. "And it doesn't have to be a bad thing".
It all starts from day one. We start living the day we are born. And we continue to learn and grow as well as model the mindset from which we are raised. The day we start living is the day we start aging. And will continue to do so until the day we die.
During the "in between moments" we are all so unique and beautiful. Still yet, most women are afraid of getting older. But who said aging was a bad thing? Aging means you are living. And to me that's a pretty good thing considering the alternative. (no longer living)
Believe me, I get it. I was one of those women too because that was the mindset in which I grew up. But in recent years, I have really learned to embrace my age and love myself for who I am. Down to every last little wrinkle. (turning the big "5-0" this year)
But why are there so many negative things associated with aging?
For example, a lot of people get sick when they get older. But does getting older make us sick? No. Do our choices make us sick? A Lot of the times. Most often, sickness later on in life comes from unhealthy habits we had when we were younger. And then again, sometimes it's just beyond our control.
I've learned that it's really a matter of taking care of yourself over time. (and don't worry if you haven't done so before. It's never too early or too late to start) making sure your daily habits (what you eat, what makeup you wear, what skin care regimen you do) are good solid healthy ones that make sense.
"Living isn't the problem, embracing life so you're not just existing is".
Because when you’re merely existing through life and allowing bad habits to continue and build up, you can only go in one direction (eekkkss). So it's important to stop and take a good long look at your life and your habits now. I will be the first to say I didn't always practice what I preach, but now I do. Infact I took it a step further and created a makeup line and skincare line with so many healthy choices that will fit any lifestyle, and have made them public so I could share my vision with all men and women.
Think of it this way, as long as you are living-and aging, the opportunity is always there for you to change your life, and do better and that’s a good thing. Trust when I say, whatever age you are right now, it’s a beautiful age to be.
Embrace living, enjoy every little wrinkle on your face and every grey hair you get or have because you have earned it! You are living. Living in an honer..."life is a beautiful thing".
